MISSION

The mission of Nekton Diving Cruises, LLC. is to provide exciting and fun tropical adventures featuring safe and environmentally conscious scuba diving and snorkeling on board the industry's most stable and luxurious vessels. Nekton utilizes live-aboard dive vessels of a special design developed by the U.S. Navy known by the acronym SWATH. Both underway and at anchor, these vessels provide stability comparable to a ship three times the length and up to twenty times the displacement.

Through an aggressive advertising and promotional campaign, Nekton differentiates itself in the industry as a professionally managed scuba cruise line providing excellent, consistent service, spacious accommodations, luxurious amenities, the finest diving in the world, and freedom from seasickness.

Nekton is providing a service that previously has not been available -- comfortable adventure on small stable vessels. It is this strategic direction that has helped Nekton gain market share of the current customer base, is stimulating industry growth by attracting new entrants to live-aboard diving, and will continue to allow Nekton to grow in the future. By putting the needs and desires of our customers first, Nekton is confident that we will continue to reward our stakeholders, lenders and staff.

What is Nekton?

Pilot Whale (Globicephala Melas)

In science, "nekton" is a term used by marine biologists to describe pelagic sea creatures that can control their speed and direction through the water. Nektons range from microscopic organisms to whales all of which swim in a body of water. In contrast, organisms classified as plankton do not actively swim but rather float and drift in a body of water. Whales are the largest and most stable nekton in the ocean. The Nekton Pilot, the first live-aboard in Nekton's fleet, was appropriately named after the Pilot Whale. Nekton's second vessel is named the Nekton Rorqual. Rorqual is a scientific classification for baleen whales including several species found in Caribbean waters such as the Humpback.
